Cabin filters are a relatively new feature in most vehicles today. Its purpose is to filter out the dust before it enters the vehicle cabin. Hence the name “cabin filter”.
The filter is located behind the glove box on most vehicles. Sometimes it can be under the hood on the passenger side of the car, but that’s getting less and less common.
A dirty filter can seriously affect the performance of your AC system. Think about it for a moment, if the filter is clogged it won’t let the proper volume of air flow through your vents and prevents your AC system from operating at its peak performance.
Cabin filters should be replaced annually or every 12,000 miles.
And when you’re doing the filter it’s a great time to do a MIST SERVICE while you have the filter out. The whole thing typically takes 30 minutes or less for most vehicles.
