Worn Brake Pads and New Brake Pads
When the pads get worn down to 3 millimeters is when I recommend replacement to my customers. Years ago the industry standard was when the pads got to be the thickness of the plate they’re attached to. But in my opinion that really is a little too soon.
But some of the chain type auto repair places still use that old standard to recommend brake pad replacement.
